Christopher Rizzo is a Principal at Clear Mountain Properties, where he oversees firm strategy, investment decision-making, and the execution of CMP’s long-term vision for creating high-quality real estate across the Upstate. Chris brings more than 16 years of investment experience, specializing in risk assessment, value creation, and disciplined acquisitions.

Before founding Clear Mountain Properties in 2019, Chris built a successful personal portfolio by acquiring, operating, and disposing of multifamily and mixed-use properties in the New Jersey market. Earlier in his career, he served as an equities trader at several multi-billion-dollar hedge funds, where he was involved in some of the largest M&A events of the last fifteen years. This institutional training shaped the methodical, fundamentals-driven investment approach that CMP follows today.

Chris launched CMP with a simple thesis: thoughtfully developed and well-operated real estate can generate strong risk-adjusted returns while meaningfully improving the communities it serves. He is deeply committed to investing in downtown urban cores and high-growth corridors. Specifically, locations with inherent scarcity value and long-term demand drivers. His ability to underwrite complexity, lean into problem-solving, and see potential where others see challenges has become a defining feature of CMP’s strategy.

Chris holds a B.A. in Economics and Politics from Washington and Lee University.
